Description
Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was a leading Victorian commercial and industrial designer who travelled extensively in 19th-century Japan. His travels yielded this comprehensive introduction to Japanese Arts and Crafts, perhaps the most authoritative work of its kind, originally published in 1882 under the title Japan: Its Architecture, Art and Art Manufactures. The book has over 200 illustrations and covers architecture, ornament, pottery calligraphy, lacquerware, drawing, metalware, textiles, and religious symbols. A lot of bang for the buck!
