This is a medieval tale of knightly adventure, a precursor to today’s fantasy novel, written by William Morris in 1891. This edition is a faithful reproduction of the book’s 1894 second edition as published by Morris at his recently established Kelmscott Press including the 23 woodcut prints by the masterful Walter Crane. Morris printed only about 250 copies of the book at his Kelmscott Press; original copies of this famous 1894 edition are virtually impossible to find.
