CLEARANCE – LIKE NEW
Founded in 1880, just one year before the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Rockwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, long epitomized high quality and artistic excellence. From its beginning, the museum collected outstanding examples of Rockwood pottery, and its collection is considered to be the finest now available for public viewing. This catalog of a 1993 exhibition showcases 97 pieces from the museum and other collections, with color plates of each item on display and captions giving dimensions, ownership, and detailed descriptions of the piece and its mark. Other features are a history of the firm (with vintage photos) and a discussion of its technical achievements, including the designs and glazes that contributed to the pottery’s appeal.
