Because the Stickley Brothers Company of Grand Rapids was possibly the most innovative and productive of the early 20th century Arts and Crafts furniture makers. The company’s Catalogue No. 32 is 180 pages of half-tone photographs showing over 500 different furniture forms. Catalogue No. 32 was probably created especially for the January 1909 Grand Rapids Furniture Market. For the curious, Catalogue 32 illustrates 203 forms not found in the company’s January 1906 catalogue (No. 28), and illustrates 80 forms not found in the company’s 1908 catalogue (No. 30).
