The first part of this book is a facsimile of Gustav Stickley’s Craftsman Homes, originally published in 1909. The book incorporates essays and home designs from Stickley’s magazine, The Craftsman. The second part reproduces most of the material in Stickley’s The Craftsman’s Story, a 1905 promotional pamphlet for The Craftsman magazine, the Craftsman philosophy, and the products of the Craftsman workshops; illustrations duplicated in Craftsman Homes, as well as pages of advertising text, have been omitted. Four illustrations that originally appeared in color in Craftsman Homes are reproduced in this edition in black and white. These drawings, facing pages 8, 128, 136 and 144 are reproduced in color on the jacket.
