Description
In his lifetime, Gustav Stickley published two catalogues dedicated solely to Craftsman metal work – in 1905 and in 1906. This book is a faithful reprint of the 1906 catalogue and is a companion to two complementary catalogues that appeared at about the same time – Craftsman Fabrics and Needlework, and Craftsman Furnishings for the Home. Craftsman Metal Work illustrates eight different fireplace hoods, several sets of andirons and fireplace tools, and a wide range of other Craftsman metal work, including candlesticks, wall sconces, chandeliers, table lamps (oil and electric), lanterns, newel post lamps, jardinieres, umbrella stands, trays, ashtrays, cigar boxes, and wall plaques. The catalogue also features seven pages of Craftsman hardware such as hinges, pulls, escutcheons and hooks for sale to amateur cabinet makers “who delight in making the furniture with the same metal trim that we use ourselves.”
