Description
This is a long out-of-print catalogue of the seminal exhibition dedicated to the work of Harvey Ellis that was presented at Rochester’s Strong Museum in 1972-73. (Due to high demand, and the paucity of scholarly work about the man, the original exhibition catalogue was reprinted in 1991.) This compact volume contains scholarly essays about Ellis’s life and work and includes period photographs, some of Ellis’s architectural drawings, and a few of his more well-known paintings. Until Professor Eileen Manning Michels’ most comprehensive study of Harvey Ellis and his work (Reconfiguring Harvey Ellis), this book contained about all we knew about the enigmatic Harvey Ellis.
