Description
This book is Gustave Baumann’s own description of Brown County, Indiana, the artists’ colony that he helped establish there, and the time he spent living there (1910 to 1916) before moving on to Santa Fe. Also included is a scholarly essay by the editor (perhaps the nation’s leading authority on Baumann), and over fifty color reproductions of Baumann’s beautiful prints of Brown County’s countryside. There are also dozens of historical photographs and a timeline of Baumann’s time in Brown County. This is an excellent companion volume to The Autobiography of Gustave Baumann and Gustave Baumann’s Southwest.
